Runnebohm Construction Earns LEED Accreditation

Runnebohm Construction is pleased to announce that Executive Vice President Chris King, P.E., and Project Manager/Estimator Kris Lasure have become LEED® Accredited Professionals (LEED-APs).  LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building rating system that has become the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.

The LEED Green Building Rating system was developed by the U.S. Green building Council and provides a comprehensive approach to green building design.  Numerous building design aspects, including site selection, water usage, energy performance, material reuse, as well as ensuring a safe and comfortable work environment for the building occupants, make up the program.  LEED Certification for building projects has become an attractive opportunity for building owners, not only because it promotes responsible stewardship of natural resources, but also because it can provide long-term energy and life-cycle cost savings.

According to the U.S. Green Building Council, “LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process.  LEED APs have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System.”

Runnebohm Construction recently completed construction on a LEED-NC Gold targeted, 25,000 square foot corporate office facility for Knauf Fiberglass.  In addition, LEED-APs Chris King and Kris Lasure have led in-house LEED training for all Runnebohm Construction Project Managers and Estimators.  As a corporate member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Runnebohm is committed to supporting the green building efforts.
